7th CEM cup football tourney starts

The 7th CEM’s Cup Football Invitation Football Tournament, organized by the Dima Hasao Sports Association starts from 25.8.11 The tournament is inaugurated by Sri Hamjanan Langthasa, Executive Member, Dima Hasao Autonomous Council on behalf of the Chief Executive Member in presence of Mayanan Kemprai, EM. DHAC, S. Hojai, EM, DHAC, Kur Rongpi, Ranu Langthasa MACs along with other officials and representatives of DHD. The General Secretary, DHSA welcome all the participating teams and the guests. Today’s game was played in between Ever green club and Florish club.

Huge cache of arms & ammunition recovered at Maibang

A hideout which is likely to be of DNLF was busted near village Lungkhor yesterday by the Army Unit located at Maibang. According to sources DNLF C-in-C Sujit Hakmosa who was apprehended by Nagaland Police, was on recruitment drive and was stocking arms and ammunition to step up their activities in area in view of upcoming DHAC elections. C-in-C of DNLF held

In a joint operation, one Laksham Lobongdisa, active cadre of Dimasa National Liberation Force was apprehended by 9 Madras and Assam Police at Maibang on Wednesday.It is learnt that a group of three members of DNLF had come to Maibang market to extort money from businessmen, the security personals after a chase apprehended one of there members while two others managed to escape from the security net. Slow progress of Lumding-Silchar BG conversion lamented

Though there have been repeated changes in the target period of the completion of the Lumding – Silchar BG conversion by the N F Railway assigning various pleas like difficult terrain, soil condition etc. but the conscious people of Dima Hasao opined that if the N F Railway maintains the present trend of work and zeal, the N F Railway can easily start the running of train in-between Lumding and New Haflong within last part of 2013.It is learnt that, from Lumding to Daotuhaja major works like tunnels and bridges including laying of tracks have been almost completed.
