Workshop on disaster management at Tangla
As a part of winning hearts and minds of people of Assam and to make an endeavour to motivate students of Udalguri to join Indian Army, Udalguri Army Camp of Red Horn Division organized a workshop on Disaster Management and role of Armed Forces at Tangla on 02 June 2012. The workshop was conducted at National Pioneer College at Tangla and was attended by over 500 students from different schools and colleges of Tangla. Speakers from Army Camp delivered a detailed lecture on natural and man made disasters including earthquakes, floods, Tsunami, cyclones and landslides and educated the students about the possible precautionary measures to ensure minimum loss of life and material. The role played by armed forces in successfully handling disaster may hem in past not only in Assam, but in every corner of the nation was highlighted. A number of eminent teachers and media persons were also present on the occasion. Not only students but teachers, guardians of students and others found the programme truly beneficial and extended their gratitude to the Indian Army for contribution in this untouched sector also.

Protesting against sharp price rise of essential commodities in the country,more than five hundred people mostly woman staged dharna in front of Kalaigaon Revenue Circle Office today on September 2 at 11 am on the day of Bharat Bandh.The protesters blocked the main gate of Kalaigaon Revenue Circle Office preventing government officials and employees including Additional Deputy Commissioner Udalguri.
