SULFA Vs ULFA again

Our special correspondent Guwahati : A full scale fratricidal clash may rock Assam if the words of surrendered ULFA leaders are any indication.

In a statement released here on Wednesday evening, some SULFA leaders have warned the ULFA to abstain from killing their colleagues like Rinku Chaudhory to avoid consequences.Signed by Sunil Nath, Jugal Kishor Mahanta, Saurabh Gogoi, Rosevelt Rabha, Mridul Phukan, Sailen Dutta Konwar, Amal Das and Pratap Das, the statement further urged the government to ensure security to the surrendered ULFA cadres.

The ULFA has claimed responsibility for killing their former colleague Rinku Chaudhory. Hira Sarania (ULFA spokesman) has confirmed that he has been killed because of his past misdeeds.

The government has decided to keep a close watch on the Guwahati based surrendered SULFA leaders According to reliable sources, the police administration will maintain a strict vigil on the city areas where the SULFA leaders reside. They will also monitor the movements of people around the SULFA members in the city.

Moreover, the police are also preparing to make a survey of all rented houses to identify if there are any ULFA people residing with a false identity. It is suspected that there are a lot of ULFA activists in the city's rented houses who want to step up the terrorist activities in the city through bombings and shoot outs.

On the other hand, the extremists group is also quickly changing its cadres operating in the city following the steps for strict vigil by the police.

Highly placed intelligence reports here says the cadres operating in upper Assam are rushing to the city areas to escape the vigil while the city cadres are leaving for the upper Assam places.

Some dogs are surrendered and some dogs are not. But both the dogs are biting our motherland Assam. These dogs should die. If they kill each other let them do that. They will be of any use to Assam only when they are dead.

Cong hails state Budget

Gogoi tables Rs.2819.23 crore deficit budget

Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi has tabled a Rs 2189.23 crore crore deficit state budget on the floor of the House on Monday pledging to make Assam a healthy and wealthy state. ULFA strike at Hindi speaking people: 3 killed

ULFA is set to target against the Hindi speaking people in Assam forcing the authorities to beef up security arrangement in upper Assam. The banned insurgent outfit shot dead three brick kiln workers near Udalguri tea Estate in between Tengakhat and Chabuwa on Sunday midnight.According to information, a group of armed youth stormed into a brick kiln owned by one Shyam Gohain at around 10-30 on Sunday evening Immediately after entering, they started indiscriminate firing on the workers who were sleeping. Blast in Dibrugarh: 6 injured

As many as six people have been left injured in upper Assam's Dibrugrah town when the suspected ULFA militants exploded a powerful hand grenade on Saturday evening. According to information, the blast took place at the Cole Road of the town at around 7-45 in the evening. All these injured people have been shifted to the Assam Medical College Hospital.
