The Autonomous State Demand Committee (ASDC) Dima Hasao District Committee condemned the killing of Swapan Dhar Choudhury, who was one of the old traders of Haflong town, by some miscreants at the night of 10th July, 2012 and also condemn the incident of firing by some miscreants with a view to extorting money from the public on 12 th July,2012 at Maibang. In view of the prevailing situation which is being an undercurrent of tense situation such as the case of serving 'extortion notice' by the miscreants/militants to the people in the border areas and urban areas of Dima Hasao Autonomous district, the ASDC Dima Hasao District Committee urge the district administration of this autonomous district to take measures in a more effective way, so that there is no security lapses in the said autonomous district for the sake of business community, the rural people of the border areas and the common people alike. The party also appeal to the militants to shun the violence and not to take the laws in their own hands so that peace, brotherhood and harmony can usher in the autonomous district, stated a press release issued by ASDC president, Sri Rathindra Thaosen on Saturday.
