Sadhana Das passes away

Sadhana Das (69 years), wife of a benevolent social worker of Jorhat Jiten Das has left her mortal body on 21st June, 2007 at Dispur Hospital, Guwahati. She has left behind her husband, her only son Mr. Jyotimoi Das and her two daughters along with many other relatives.

EMFA advocates for postal voting facility to media persons

World Kidney Day to be observed at Dispur Hospital

The city based Dispur Hospitals Pvt. Ltd will observe the World Kidney Day on 10 March 2016 at its complex in Ganeshguri, Guwahati-781006. The Dispur Hospital management has decided to mark the day with various activities including a free kidney check-up camp for common people. The activity will start with a walkathon kicking-off at 7 am from the hospital premises. The kidney check-up camp on the hospital complex is scheduled to start on 10 am and conclude by 1 pm. IS, school principal suspended in Jorhat

Stunned by the Jorhat incident the authorities have suspended inspector of school, Sankardev Seminary HS School principal. SEBA secretary Kamaljyoti Gogoi has also received a show cause notice in connection with the incident where thousands of HSLC examination answer sheets were gutted in fire. A CID team been interrogating the school authorities and night chowkidar to extract more revelations on the incident.

HS Biology question paper in open market!

In yet another major incident that strikes statewide anger, the HS examination question paper in the subject of Biology is now available in the open market ahead of the examination.   The piece of a handwritten question paper has gone viral through social media on Sunday evening where the examination was scheduled for Tuesday. Apart from instituting an enquiry, the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council has rescheduled the examination to March 19.

PA Sangma no more

Veteran political leader and former Lok sabha Speaker PA Sangma died after a sudden cardiac arrest in New Delhi on Friday. Sangma who has crossed 68 years of age suddenly complained of heart ailment at hisa own residence in New Delhi the morning died before being rushed to the hospital. Details are awaited.
