Security forces on Sunday nabbed an NSCN-IM militant near Haflong in
Dima Hasao district of Assam. He has been identified as Ishambe Pame.
The rebel was involved in the kidnapping of district elementary
education officer Thangpuia Namlai of Haflong recently, said an Assam
Rifles (AR) official. Acting on tip-off from its intelligence wing,
the Haflong-based AR unit, along with Assam Police, launched an
operation in the area and nabbed the Naga militant.
The Langpi Dehangi Rural Bank (LDRB) of Hatikhali town in Dima Hasao district have been closed since February 2013 as some miscreants demand the ransom from the bank manager. Speaking over phone, the bank authority told that the LDRB bank will reopen in August 2014. Langpi Dehangi Rural Bank, sponsored by State Bank of India was established on 27th January 1982 under Section 3 (1) of Regional Rural Bank Act 1976. The Bank’s area of operation comprises of the two hill districts of Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao in the state of Assam. The Head Office of the Bank is situated at Diphu, the district Headquarter of Karbi Anglong District.
