Pay hikes in the time of polls

The Assam government has made a slew of announcement on Tuesday just before the announcement of the poll schedule.

These include hike in honorariums for angwanbadi workers, Aasha workers, home guards and village defence parties across the state. These hikes would be effective from April 1, 2014.

Moreover, the government has announced 10,000 to each of the self help groups to woo the voters before the Lok Sabha polls.
