100 bedded Cancer Hospital inaugurated.
North East Cancer Hospital and Research Institute (NCHRI) was formally inaugurated today by prominent social worker, freedom fighter and Padmashree Hem Bharali at a glittering function held at its premises at Americog, Jorabat, near Guwahati.
Talking to selected media representatives Dr. M N Baruah, Managing Director of NCHRI informed that the hospital is erected at the cost of 30 crores with international-quality facilities. The cost effective treatment is prior motto of the hospital. Two BPL (Below Poverty Line) patients will be treated absolutely free of cost every month.
The 100 bedded cancer hospital is first of its kind in the entire North East with all modern updated facilities said eminent Radiation Oncologist Prof. (Dr.) G G Ahmed. Jiten Chandra Kalita a retired judge of Guwahati High Court also appealed the NCHRI to make society cancer free with proper treatment at reasonable cost.
