Here comes the Magh Bihu

UDALGURI,Jan 7:  Udalguri and its people are gearing up for Magh Bihu slated for January 13 and 14 with traditional pomp and gaiety. The people across the BTAD district are busy with preparation to celebrate the much-vaunted occasion. The youths are at work to make out the Bhelaghar for community feasting, the women are busy with preparing traditional food items to be served to their near and dear ones. 


The innovative and creative ideas of youths are visible in majestic structures of Bhelaghar for the forthcoming Magh Bihu. The Bagaribari villagers of Udalguri have also geared up for the festival.. The make-shift structure masterrminded byJibon Jyoti Rabha is built with  hay, bamboo, twigs, with more than a fortnight labour.
