Milad-un-Nabi, the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammad was observed with traditional fervour in Tangla on Friday.Celebrated on the 12th day of Rabi-ul-Awwal, the third month of the Islamic calendar, the day commemorates the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammad.


Religious fervour marked the celebrations with mass prayers being held at Tangla Bara Masjid and Jame Masjid Banseria .The day begin with special prayers in mosques followed by a special feast befitting the birthday celebrations of the founder of Islam. The food prepared during Milad-un-Nabi is known as Mawlid recipes. The men young and old alike feasted on special delicacies prepared on the ocassion.
