NTPC Bongaigaon Builds ₹1.8-Crore Education Facilities at VKV Balijan

NTPC Bongaigaon has inaugurated a ₹1.8-crore educational infrastructure project at Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya (VKV), Balijan, in Arunachal Pradesh under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme.

The project includes the construction of science laboratories, a library and five classrooms to strengthen the school's academic infrastructure and improve learning facilities for students.

The new facilities were inaugurated by Nabam Vivek, MLA of the 14th Govind Constituency, in the presence of Takar Rava, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Balijan, NTPC Bongaigaon officials, VKV Balijan Secretary Sujatha Nayak, teachers, students, parents and local residents.

According to NTPC, the project aims to provide students with better access to practical science education, modern learning resources and additional classroom space to meet the growing educational needs of the region.

The science laboratories are expected to promote hands-on learning, while the upgraded library will support reading, research and academic development. The additional classrooms are intended to improve the school's teaching infrastructure and accommodate more students.

Speaking at the event, NTPC officials said investment in educational infrastructure is essential for long-term community development and reiterated the company's commitment to supporting sustainable initiatives through its CSR programme.

Representatives of Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya thanked NTPC Bongaigaon for the support, stating that the new facilities would benefit students and enhance the overall teaching-learning environment.

NTPC Bongaigaon has been implementing CSR projects across the Northeast in areas including education, healthcare, skill development, environmental sustainability and community welfare.
