AKRSU seeks early granting of ST, Kamatapur

 

KOKRAJHAR: Intensifying the movement seeking Scheduled Tribes (ST) status to the Koch Rajbongshis, reconstruction of kamatapur">Kamatapur  state, the All Koch Rajbongshi Students Union (AKRSU) organized a grand mass gathering at Gandhi Maidan in Bongaigaon today which witnessed a large number of agitators thronging from nook and corners of state. The mass gathering witness participant speakers and leaders from different organizations,apart from Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) leader, Akhil Gogoi, prominent leaders of the Koch Rajbongshis, leaders from six ethnic community ST demand group organisations among others. AKRSU leaders, agitators from Koch Rajbongshi community shouted slogans demanding early granting of  ST status to the Koch Rajbongshis, reconstruction of kamatapur">Kamatapur state within Indian constitution. AKRSU slammed the governments for not initiating any measures to solve the issue and demands of the AKRSU.The students union alleged that BJP led NDA government has miserably failed to fulfill hopes and aspirations of the community that BJP party promised before parliamentary elections in 2014. President of AKRSU, Arun Ray said that the students union organized the grand mass gathering in support of  seeking ST status, reconstruction of kamatapur">Kamatapur state. He has alleged that the BJP led government totally failed while solving the issue and demands of the Koch Rajbongshi community. He has sought immediate steps from government to meet solution of the ST status,reconstruction of kamatapur">Kamatapur state. He has demanded early solutions of granting ST status, reconstruction of kamatapur">Kamatapur state in immediate way. KMSS leader, Akhil Gogoi said that the BJP led governments have no welfare initiative for the common citizens of the state. He alleged that common citizens are deprived of due basic benefits they are entitled to.

Kokrajhar, May 2:  A search operation that began yesterday evening concluded today with the recovery of three bodies from the Beki River near Manas National Park in Baksa district. The three youths, identified as Deep Saha, Raj Saha, and Abhijit Karmakar, all from Barpeta Road, reportedly went missing after entering the river for a swim on Wednesday evening.
