BTC summer session concludes

Kokrajhar: The summer session of the Bodoland Territorial Council Legislative Assembly was concluded today with a day programme scheduled being held at BTC Legislative Assembly House, Bodofa Nwgwr in Kokrajhar. 

The session began with question hour questioned by Opposition MCLA Rwngwra Narzary. He has put question on Cultural department uplift in the region and urged the Cultural department to renovate Bodofa Cultural complex with necessary initiative to make proper utilisation. 

Replying to the questions in the house,Cultural affairs in-charge Bonjar Daimary said that the Cultural affairs department has been emphasized the uplift of the Cultural activities by organising cultural exchange programmes, renovation of Bodofa Cultural complex and provinding grants in aids to the ailing artiste and cultural organisers.He has highligthed the cultural integration in the region with organising cultural programmes at various places in four districts of the council. 

The session discussed on various subject and department’s developmental acitivities, apart from Water Resources, Transport, Agriculture, Education,Tourism,Forest,Land and Revenue,Health & Family Welfare,Industry etc which was chaired by Tridiv Daimary, speaker of the BTCLA.

However, BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary and two executive members Mritunjyay Narzary and Shyam Sundi were remained absent on the session. 

The BTCLA house has been emphasised over the deep uplift and social integration in the region. 

BTC deputy chief Kampa Borgoyary informed the house that Tourism department was working with dedication to make well great environment in the region.The tourism sector is getting well equip in the region. BTC region has a potentiality of tourism with its own natural resources which attracts foreign tourists and local visitors. The tourism department has been carrying strong initiative to make healthy tourist places at various locations which are gaining up to provide hospitality for the tourists.

Borgoyary has been highlighted the essence of tourists products,which are included paragliding,camel services etc for amusement creation for the tourists and visistors. He said that Manas National Park is getting huge foreign tourists as well local tourists as many new initiatives are taken to attract the tourists.

He said that the session discussed on the various aspects and developmental activities carried out by BTC administration in the region. 

Opposition MCLA Rwngwra Narzary said that the house saw discussed on various developmental activities being initiated by council administration as the opposition members put questions and shared their views about developmental activities. He has urged the BTC administration to take speedy up of welfare schecme and projects which are meant for publics.

KOKRAJHAR: In a heart touching incident, Kokrajhar SP Rajen Singh physical assaulted  EAC Sailen Das at a gettogeter inside a hotel in Kokrajhar as video of CCTV footages state. The incident has come into light after a video became viral on social media on Friday. KOKRAJHAR: The All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) expelled of Rinjoy Boro from central committee for his anti organizational activities. In a press statement, assistant general secretary of the students union, Khwrwmdao Wary said the student's union after the cabinet meeting held on Friday has decided to take disciplinary action against Rinjoy Boro, who was one of the central committee ABSU, Secretary. Rinjoy Boro hails from Harisinga of Udalguri district.
KOKRAJHAR: BTC executive member Shyam Sundi inaugurated the extended campus of School of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry at Titaguri in Kokrajhar district, on Thursday. 66 trainees, who are selected as veterinary field assistant (VFA) under veterinary and animal husbandry department are taking training in the school. Sundi said that the school is giving an opportunity to train students from  veterinary and animal husbandry in the region as well as whole of the state.He said that peoples from the region would be benefited from the school. KOKRAJHAR: Police apprehended three persons including a government employee involved with cheating related cases from Kokrajhar town on Thursday. According to Police, Kokrajhar and Guwahati police have jointly carried out a search operation and apprehended the trio. They have been identified as Alok Sen (49) of Prince Golam Hossain Shah Road, Kolkata, Pradip Kalita (42) of Jamalpur of Kamrup rural and Manoj Kumar Deka (75) of Geetanagar, Guwahati. Kalita is a fourth grade government employee in PHE department.

KOKRAJHAR: "Several hundred teacher's posts are lying vacant in Bodo medium schools of Kokrajhar district as well across the state. The state government should initiate filling these vacancies by appointing teachers and make healthy educational environment", said the All Bodo Primary Teachers' Association (ABPTA). KOKRAJHAR: The National Democratic Front of Boroland - Progressive (NDFB-P) has hopes that the BJP-led NDA government is taking strong initiatives to make solution to the issue and demands of the Bodoland statehood through political dialogue. KOKRAJHAR: The 27th Kokrajhar district level National Children’s Science Congress 2019 was held with day-long programme at Dotma Girls’ High School in Kokrajhar on Saturday. The Science Congress session saw large number of participation from different schools of the entire Kokrajhar district. United People's Party Liberal (UPPL) president UG Brahma hinted seat sharing possibility with BPF in the upcoming BTC general council elections to be held in 2020. He reacted to the statement of BPF president Hagrama Mohilary. Mohilary said to medi thta BPF is not going for seat sharing but unification with parties. Speaking the media at Kokrajhar Press Club on Friday, Brahma said that there was only preliminary communication among both the parties regarding unification possibility ahead of elections.
