Born to renowned Assamese artists Digen Mahanta and Progati Manahanta, the brother duo of Manmit and Mandeep Mahanta perform together as the band MbrothersH. Music runs in the veins of the duo as their entire family – with the likes of celebrated artists like late Khagen Mahanta, Archana Mahanta, Papon, Digen Mahanta and so on - has immense contribution to the art and cultural world of Assam.
Manmit and Mandeep have both been performing professionally since the past 15 years and have gathered their own fan base across the region as well as other parts of the country. Besides performing in numerous TV shows, they have also made a mark in music direction, composing and programming in Assamese television serials, theatres, short films, documentaries and individual projects. They have rendered their music and playback vocals in many features of All India Radio and Bollywod projects in the form of feature films, web series, short films and ad films.
Mandeep has also represented India at the India festival held in Doha Qatar in 2019 while Mandeep has performed in Dhaka, Bangladesh during the death anniversary celebrations of late Dr. Bhupen Hazarika in November, 2019. Former in 2010, their band, MbrothersH, has performed live shows in many cities of India and their debut album ‘Kinu Ei Jatra’ was released in 2015.

PRASENJIT SAHA AGARTALA: The ruling CPM in Tripura has fielded Pallab Debverma in Charilam by polls slated for mid March. The party announced the name on Monday in the place of Ramendra Debverma who died of cardiac ailment on February 12 forcing the Election Commission to countermand the polling till mid March. The north eastern state has gone to the assembly polls in 59 constituencies on Sunday recording 89% turn out. GUWAHATI: Assam Chief Minister's vigilance and anti corruption cell on Monday questioned Ranjit Dutta in connection with graft charges. The investigators came to Dutta in Dispur and questioned him on the confessional statements they extracted from the arrested irtigation official Kujendra Doley who was arrested last year for recovering a huge amount of cash from his office. SHILLONG:Five people including a poll candidate in Meghalaya died in a powerful explosion in the poll bound north eastern state on Sunday. According to information, suspected GNLA rebels exploded the bomb at Samanda at 7.30 in the evening where NCP candidate from Williamnagar Jonathone N Sangma along with two security guards and three others died on the spot. Sangma, was believed to have received threat from the rebel outfit as he filed nomination papers. Even the rebel warned the voters' of dire consequences if Sangma was voted to power. PRASENJIT SAHA AGARTALA: A CPM worker sustained serious injury when two group of political parties clashed with each other on Sunday when the north eastern state was going to the assembly polls in 59 constituencies. The clash broke out at Golaghati area in Dayaram para in the afternoon. According to allegations, a group of BJP workers suddenly sprang upon their CPM counterparts where he sustained serious injury.
