BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi on Monday took on Sonia Gandhi for failing to deliver the goods to the people of Assam during her ten year long UPA tenure.
Addressing a largely attended poll rally in Gogamukh to campaign for Sarbananda Sonowal, the Gujarat Chief Minister Sonia Gandhi and her party has hardly any commitment for the people in Assam.
He said that even after 15 people were killed in Bihali by miscreants the UPA chairperson and is son Rahul Gandhi failed to convey at least sympathy to the bereaved family members. He further deplored that no Congress member rushed to the bereaved family members.
He further strongly criticized Tarun Gogoi alleging that his counterpart was on a foreign trip when floods brought brimful misery to the people.
He said that the huge gatherings in Biswanath Chariali and Gogamukh suggested that the people want change of guard. All senior BJP leaders were present in the rally. The Modi left for Sivasagar to campaign for Rameshwar Teli who is contesting from Jorhat.
Lok Sabha polls in this constituency will take place on April 7 along with Tezpur, Dibrugah, Jorhat and Koliabor.
