Addressing a poll rally in Majuli to campaign for Lakhimpur AGP candidate Hariprasad Dihingia, Rio said that a strong regionalism is key to sustainable development in the north east.

He said that the regional parties in the north east should fight unitedly in New Delhi to ensure that the region gets special care and attention of the Centre.

Lakhimpur along with Koliabor, Jorha, Dirugarh and Tezpur will go to the polls in the first phase slated for April 7.
