At least five persons sustained serious burn injuries when a market caught fore in the outskirt of Guwahati on Friday.
The incident took place at Sontoli in Boko where a devastating fire broke out in the market in the wee hours.
The reason of this ravaging fire has yet to be ascertained. But it rapidly spread over a huge portion of the market where at least 30 shops have been gutted to reduce properties worth Rs 3 crore to ashes.
Fire tenders arrived in the spot an hours after the fire broke out. But by then many shops were ravaged by the inferno. Ten fire tenders took several hours to bring the situation under control.
