A gang of miscreants raped a girl before mercilessly killing her in Karbi Anglong sending huge shockwaves and anger across the state on Friday. The bizarre but brutal incident took place in Baithalangsu in the hills district on Thursday night and the lifeless girl was spotted near the road on Friday morning. The stage is set for holding the Karbi Anglong Autonomous council polls on June 12. The state poll panel has already announced the poll schedule for 26 seats in the 30 member autonomous body.
