Global lifts Bodoland Martyrs Gold Cup
Gossaigaon Global Sports Academy defeated Kashibari Youth Club,Udalguri to lift 15th Bodoland Martyrs Gold Cup football championship by 1-0 goal in the final match being played on Monday at Dhawliguri ground in Kokrajhar.
The match was led in draw in the first half. Ashok Brahma of Global scored his lone goal against Kashibari through golden penalty shot in 69th minutes of the second half which led the team to win the championship.
Didwm Hazoary of Global sports academy was adjusted as best player and given away cash 5,000 and a trophy by Janamahan Mushahary,chairman,Ex-BLT welfare society.
BTC executive member Mono Kumar Brahma and Hemendra Nath Brahma,president of Assam Football Association jointly gave away the championship trophy and cash 50,000 to Global.BTC member Doneswar Goyary gave away the runners-up trophy and cash 25,000 to Kashibari.
Among others,Tajeswar Muktiar,ADC Kokrajhar,Nikunja Brahma were also present on the final match.

Former president of Kokrajhar district unit of Bharatiya Janata Party, Binati Bala Basumatary resigned from her party membership on Monday. Basumatary submitted her resignation letter to the state party president citating personal reason . She was Kokrajhar district BJP president for 2011-2015, who had gained strength of the party through her strong leadership in the district. Basumatary's quit of the party ahead assembly election would draw a set back party strength in the Kokrajhar. Three cadres of the NDFB(S) were arrested by security forces in a joint operation belonging to police and army at Hakata village under Barama PS in Baksa district on Sunday. The cadres were identified as Jwangsar Boro @ KK, Mohit Mushahary and Pramod Ramchiary @ Khankari @Raja of Baksa district. They were actively involved in extortion, arms smuggling and other nefarious and anti national activities and Adivasi carnage in December(2014) and had run away and sheltered themselves in Chennai, till their return.
