Mohilary takes oath as BTAD boss

Assam Chief Secretary Jitesh Kosla administered oath of office and secrecy to Hagrama Mohilary as chief of BTC and 13 others as executive members in the presence of Governor Padmanabha Balakrishna Acharya today at a glittering swearing in ceremony at Bodofa Nwgwr ground, near BTC Secretariat today in Kokrajhar. 

Mohilary took his oath of office and secrecy in English following Kampa Borgoyary as deputy chief  in English too.

Ansumwi Khunggur Boro, Deben Boro, Ganesh Kachary, Lwmsrao Daimary, Jagadish Sarkar, Bonjar Daimary, Alindra Kumar Moshahary, Shyam Sundi, Mrityunjoy Narzary, Rajib Brahma, Daneswar Goyary and Maheswar Basumatary take the oath as executive members.

The newly appointed deputy speaker of BTC Assembly Nerswn Boro was also administered the swearing-in.

All the newly elected members of BTC from different party and organisations were also present on the occasion which was attended by thousands of people from all walks of life.

Among those present includes chief executive member of Mising Autonomous Council Dr Ranoj Pegu, Commissioner WPT & BC Mukesh Chandra Sahu.

Mohilary, taking after oath of office as chief in BTC for third consecutive terms,who is also leader of BPF Legislature Party said that that priority would be given to solve the problems of various communities residing in the BTAD.

Mohilary thanks the public for giving the BPF party a mandate for the third time. He also urged the people, irrespective of caste, creed and community to give a helping hand in carrying out development activities and maintaining peace and harmony. 

Mohilary assured to work for the welfare of the people.He said that his council will take step to implementing all clauses of the historic Bodo accord that signed in 2003 which are not still implemented. He has also urged upon the state and the central government in proper implementation of the  Bodo accord in letter and spirit. He also call upon the government of Assam to allocate fund as per population pattern which is over 12 percent so that development works can be carried out more sustain in the region.

Mohilary also promised 33 percent reservation for women in the VCDC and also a scheme for women soon in BTC. He has stressing the permanent peace and unity among different communities in the region said that his BPF administration in the council will do all round development for communities.

Governor of Assam Padmanabha Balakrishna Acharya in his speech call upon the BTC members to work for all round development for the welfare of the people so that all communities can get healthy administration in their council. He has hailed all newly elected members to the council and wished a good governance in the council. He said the real meaning of achieving the BTC will happen only when development takes place. He also calls upon to check corruption and be transparent in all development aspect.      

BPF won 20 of the 40 member council Assembly following PCDR 7, AIUDF 4, BJP 1 and independents 8 in the election held on April 8.

ABSU, AASU condemns SEBA

The All Bodo Students Union and All Assam Students Union strongly slammed the answer script of HSLC examination gutted fire in Jorhat on Friday.  Lawrence Islary, general secretary of ABSU condemned the answer script paper gutted in fire was unfortunate and unwanted for the state. He has accused of that SEBA as well as government totally failed to safe and security of the answer script in the state. He has demanded involved culprit should be nabbed and punished.   

Bengali federation burn effigy

Students activists from All BTC Bengali Youth Students Federation show their protest and burnt effigy of Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi in protest against his recent derogatory remakrs on Hindu Bengali community in the state. The Salakkati anchalik committee of students federation shouted slogans against Gogoi and burnt his effigy along the Salkati bazar road in Kokrajhar today and demanded eraly apolozize to the remarks. The students federation also burnt Gogoi’s effigy at Gossaigaon in the district and strongly condemned remarks carried out from Gogoi on Hindu Bengali.

Brahma condoles

Former Rajya Sabha MP and UPP president Urkhao Gwra Brahma  expressed his deep sorrow over demise of PA Sangma,former Lok Sabha Speaker and Tura Lok Sabha MP. Brahma,in his codolence message said that the country has lost a great with his(Sangma) dead.He  was one of the most prominent and influential political leader in the country,who was representing Tura Lok Sabha constituency till his death.Brahma extended deep condolence to the departed soul of PA Sangma.

The All Bodo Students Union(ABSU) has extended union’s deepest condolence over the demise of former Look Sabha Speaker Purna A Sangma serving as MP Look Sabha from Meghalaya of North esatern state. KLO leader killed in Kokrajhar

A self styled deputy commander in chief of Kamatapur Liberation Organization (KLO) was killed in an encounter with security forces at Shiljan area in Kokrajhar district today. He was identified as Dibakar Barman alias Anupal. A pistol, two grenades and live ammunition were recovered from him.  He was Myanmar military trained leader of the militant outfit organization. 

Bodoland Movement Day observed

Army distributes study materials

Army unit from Red Horns Division in association with Kokrajhar civil administration distributed furniture, school bag,study materials and sports items among students of Jharbari ME school on Wednesday at Jharbari in Kokrajhar district.  The distribution was a noble endeavour to encourage students while promoting education and sports amongst youths in the region. Humiliated budget for BTC: UG Brahma
