A string of untoward incidents marred the AGP-sponsored 10 hour statewide Assam bandh in protest against Indo-Bangla land deal on Thursday.
The stray incidents, mostly, took place early in the morning when AGP activists in large numbers came out to the road and burnt down tyres to disrupt surface communication.
A section of AGP workers started enforcing the bandh by pelting stones Demow area where several local passengers sustained injury.
In Tinsukia district police arrested at least 15 AGP workers when they tried to enforce the bandh. Even the school buses were not spared in some places.
The Opposition party called for the bandh in protest against the Indo-Bangla land swap deal which the Rajya Sabha clared on Wednesday.
