Programme on safe drinking water
An awareness programmee on pure and safe drinking water for good health was organized by the extension education service cell in collaboration with the IQAC,Kokrajhar Government College at Harinaguri High School auditorium hall in Kokrajhar on Friday.Co-ordinator of the awareness programmee and Lecturer Kokrajhar Government College Sikhna Jhon Wary addressing the gathering said that the awareness programmee was organized to bring awareness among the common people about water born diseases. Former Joint Director,Health Services, Dr.Mansingh Narzary, Kokrajhar was the chief speaker in the programme. The programme saw the attendance of various school functionaries, students and commoners including the Harinaguri High School Management Committee chairman Hariprasad Sarma, Vice Principal, Kokrajhar Govt.College, P.Chakraborty along with the teaching staff and several village heads.

Security forces claimed to have killed yet another NDFB(S) militant-responsible for the gory Adivasi carnage in December last year.Identified as Rinsar Narzary alias Gaitha, he was killed at an encounter at Amteka area in Chirang district on Tuesday wee hours.The encounter took place in the wee hours during a joint operation by police and CRPF's Cobra battalion.Police further claimed top havre captured one 9 mm Browning pistol, one 36 HE (high explosive) grenades, one magazine, five live rounds and four fired rounds.
Three persons were received serious injured when a bike and scooty head on collision along the JD Road near Madan Mahan pharmacy this afternoon in Kokrajhar town. According to traffic police, the three persons in bike and scooty coming from opposite site met head on collision at around 2.30 pm this afternoon and received serious injuries on their bodies and head.
