Dharna at Dighalipukhuri

The Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuva Aanmilani activists staged a dharna in Guwahati raising a slew of demands on Thursday.

Protesters thronged at Dighalipukhuri in the morning demanding replacement of APSC chairman Rakesh Paul and immediate measures to contain Japanese encephalitis.

Talking to Assam Times the protestors said that despite repeated promise Governor PB Acharya has been keeping silence to act against Paul who allegedly made money in the selection of candidates in the civil service examinations.

They said that they are prepared to launch a statewide agitation if the authorities refuse to read their demands.
