IITian found dead

A B Tech student is believed to have committed suicide in the morning leaving the Guwahati IIT in utter shocked on Friday.
Identified as Ujjal Salil, the body of student from Bihar was found at the campus early in the morning. The inmate of the Brahmaputra Hostel was suspected to have jumped to the ground.

Police recovered the body and investigation is going on. This is the third such tragic incident at the country’s premier seat of science and technology in Guwahati during the last 12 months.

Last year in the same month i.e. on 14/09/2014 our son Tushar Yadav was also found dead behind his room in Kameng Hostel, before we reached there from Delhi IIT Guwahati declared it as suicide. Same thing happened in today"s case.  After our strong oppose case of conspiracy and murder was registered since then Police and IIT Guwahatidid nothing at yet, we at our level providing evidences, activities of suspects but all in vain. You the media also continuously describing as suicide why? On that day you the media failed to did your duty to find out facts then wrote such thing. If you did that in so hurry then why not you published the story of conspiracy and murder. This IIT has continue taking life of young engineers no media no ngo no political system no UGC no NHRC no Court take notice of it. We the grieved parents of Tushar can understand the loss that the family of Ujjal Shailabh have to bear through whole life, what else we can say   Narender Singh ( Gurgaon)

Guwahati: After a brainstorming session in Guwahati on Thursday Congress, CPI, CPM have agreed to fight unitedly to keep BJP at bay in the 2021 assembly polls. The leaders of all the three parties to hit the streets alleging corruption, utter lawlessness across the state. Convened at the hotel Gateway Grandeur, the meeting further discussed the preparation of a common minimum programme to sort out the issues. Congress opposes Madrassa closure move

Guwahati: The BJP-led government's move to close down around 1200 Madrassas hits a major hurdle with Congress vehemently opposing it. State Congress president Ripun Bora said that the party/s position was very clear and that they will keep opposing the move. Bora further called the decision unconstitutional and that the government cant take such a decision in a secular country. Notably, education minister Himanta Biswa Sarma confirmed that the government owned Madrassas would be closed down from November.

Guwahati: Ending a high voltage drama, Kumar Sanjit Krishna has surrendered before the authorities 24 hours after the senior police officer went missing to avert arrest in connection with the recent police recruitment scam. Guwahati: In a bizarre incident that rattles the state's police force a senior police officer is on the run. He is none other than Kumar Sanjit Krishna who faced interrogation in connection with the recent nefarious police recruitment scam. Guwahati: Police team probing the sub inspector recruitment scam arrested one of the main accused PK Dutta on Tuesday.  The retired DIG was arrested from along Indo-Nepal border early in the morning.
