Altogether five brilliant students who secured positions in the last HSLC and HS examinations for the year 2014 & 2015 were  felicitated and handed over cheque amounting Rs 2 lakhs each by the Director of Education, BTC .

BTC deputy chief, handed over the cheques at his office chamber at the BTC Secretariat in Kokrajhar today. 

Among the students receiving the cheques are Hriday Jyoti Ojha from National Pioneer College, Tangla of Ualguri, who stood 5th position in the HS in 2014, Ashim Majumdar of St John’s HS school, Barama of Baksa who stood 4th position in the HSLC in 2015, Bibekajyoti Boro of Sankardev Vidyaneketan, Tamulpur in Baksa, 10 position in the HSLC in 2015, Aithjhya Bhaduri and Priyasa Kundu, both  of Bongaigaon Refinery HS school, Dhaligaon in Chirang and secured 5th and 8th position respectively in the HSLC 2015.

Borgoyary said that the BTC authority was   working to encourage the students to work hard and council will be giving helping hand to brilliant students who are aspired tithe good career in their higher studies. He said 18 students from the Bodoland region who have been selected and got admitted in the IIT and IIM will also be given the incentive for their higher studies. 

Borgoyary also said that BTC authority will give scholarships to 25-30 brilliant students preparing for UPSC examination from the region.

Bodo artiste conference begins

 The 7th annual convention of all bodo artiste association begins from Saturday at Jwhwlao Swmbla Basumatary Fwtar, Goibari with two day programmes Chirang district. As part of the programme scheduled, Kampa Borgoyary, BTC deputy dhief inaugurated the delegate session of the convention in the presence of huge artistes from various districts of assam. A cwc meeting was also held with bikas basumatary, president of the association in the chair. BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary will grace the open session as chief guest tomorrow. 

TET stages dharna

Bodoland house at Kolkata

BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary on Wednesday inaugurated newly constructed Bodoland House at Rajarhat New Town in Kolkata in the presence of huge gathering. The house constructed at CF-24(03-178) Action Area located at Rajarhat New Town in Kolkata with an amounting of 55.33 crores of BTC package. It is the third house constructed under BTC administration to facilitate peoples from region in the city.

RTI training programme

A district level training programme for SPIO (State Public Information Officer) and FAAs (First Appellate Authority) on RTI Act was held at Kokrajhar District Deputy Commissioner office Conference hall, district on Thursday. Organized by the Kokrajhar district administration, Kokrajhar deputy commissioner Thaneswar Malakar inaugurated the programme. All the heads of the departments including the designated officials for RTI purpose in various departments under Kokrajhar district participated in the training programme.  

Archery Coaching Camp starts at Puthimari

The opening ceremony of ‘Archery Coaching Camp-2015’ was held at Puthimari village in Kokrajhar on Sunday.BTC Executive member Mono Kumar Brahma inaugurated the ceremony amidst large number of local people and sports personalities.Motilal Borgoyary, Sub-divisional Sports Officer, President Hungkha Mashahary and General Secretary Balen Ch. Devastating fire in Kokrajhar

A elderly woman was charred to death and two houses completely gutted in fire at Santinagar area in Kokrajhar town late last night.Sources said the elderly woman identified as Gita Dey, 75 was charred to death in the fire which started from her house and another house belonging to Montu Ghosh, a government employee were gutted damaging property over 20 lakhs.Sources said the woman stays alone as her son stays outside. Bonjar Festival Rally
