Incentive to brilliant students in BTC
Altogether five brilliant students who secured positions in the last HSLC and HS examinations for the year 2014 & 2015 were felicitated and handed over cheque amounting Rs 2 lakhs each by the Director of Education, BTC .
BTC deputy chief, handed over the cheques at his office chamber at the BTC Secretariat in Kokrajhar today.
Among the students receiving the cheques are Hriday Jyoti Ojha from National Pioneer College, Tangla of Ualguri, who stood 5th position in the HS in 2014, Ashim Majumdar of St John’s HS school, Barama of Baksa who stood 4th position in the HSLC in 2015, Bibekajyoti Boro of Sankardev Vidyaneketan, Tamulpur in Baksa, 10 position in the HSLC in 2015, Aithjhya Bhaduri and Priyasa Kundu, both of Bongaigaon Refinery HS school, Dhaligaon in Chirang and secured 5th and 8th position respectively in the HSLC 2015.
Borgoyary said that the BTC authority was working to encourage the students to work hard and council will be giving helping hand to brilliant students who are aspired tithe good career in their higher studies. He said 18 students from the Bodoland region who have been selected and got admitted in the IIT and IIM will also be given the incentive for their higher studies.
Borgoyary also said that BTC authority will give scholarships to 25-30 brilliant students preparing for UPSC examination from the region.

A delegation of 26 organisations visited the refugee camps in Kokrajhar and Chirang districts on Tuesday. Security forces claimed to have killed 3 suspected cadres of NDFB-S militants during the combing operation from Sankosh area in Gossaigaon subdivision of Kokrajhar district on Monday.According to police, identified as Rodip Narzary, Bennedict Basumatary and Rahidas Narzary were apprehended when they were on the way towards West Bengal from Jambuguri area in Gossaigaon in a Nano vehicle bearing registration no AS-01 MB 3661. A section local residents in Gossaigaon mercilessly killed a full grown leopard after one person sustained injury in its attack on Monday.The incident took place at Jingribil area under Bauraguri police station in Gossaigaon subdivision of Kokrajhar district on Monday where the animal which came out of the Ripu-chirang reserve forest under Kachgaon forest division on Sunday in search of home sneaked into human habitat on Monday.Identified as Jwngsar Brahma, the 18 year old youth was injured in the attack in the morning. The security forces on Sunday claimed to have recovered 8 bikes used by NDFB-S rebels in the Korkajhar carnage on Tuesday. The bikes and a vehicle were recovered from Kousi Bazar in Karigaon area in the morning. According to police, these include 7 Pulsar and one CVR bike along with an Indica car which were recovered during the ongoing joint search operation in the dense jungle area of Ripu reserve forest.

Security forces are going all out against NDFB-S n Kokrajahr and Chirang districts five days after the militant outfit killed at least 70 people in Kokrajahr and Sonitpur districts.Police officials told Assam Times that 36 additional forces have arrived in the state. Fifteen companies have been deployed in Kokrajhar,9 in Chirang and 6 companies each in Baksa and Udalguri districts.All the extra companies have been deployed in the operation against NDFB(S) which is being intensified in Ripu Reserve forest, Chirang Reserve and Kachugaon Reserve forest.
