 Lakhipur Alongbar lifted the Bigrai Mushahary (Daokha) memorial football trophy defeating Simbargaon Bithorai Club 4-0 in Monday’s final match at Bismuri ground in Kokrajhar. 

For Alongbar, Pideve Basumatary scored first goal in 33 minutes and led the team 1-0 in the first half. Again for Alongbar, Nipun Basumatary, Kwrwmdao Brahma and Nipson Basumatary scored one each goal in 43 minutes, 52 minutes and 62 minutes respectively in the second half and won the trophy. 

Kwrwmdao Brahma of Alongbar wax adjusted ax best player in the trophy and awarded cash 1,000 and a trophy. BTC executive member Rajib Brahma who attended as chief guest handed over trophy and Rs.8,000 in cash. Social worker Girish Chandra Narzary gave away runners up trophy and Rs. 5,000 in cash.

KLO ultra held

In a joint operation launched by the security forces from Assam Police and Army apprehended a cadre of Kamatapur Liberation Organization (KLO) at Salakati village under Kokrajhar PS on Friday.  He was identified as Sonaram Roy of Balagaon area of Kokrajhar district. Mock drill in Kokrajhar

An emergency response mock drill was conducted by the Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) at Habrubari in Kokrajhar district on Friday,which was a part of offsite emergency mock on the IOCL Guwahati-Siliguri underground pipeline to test the preparedness of its emergency personnel. A live fire fighting exercise was carried out alongside the drill by Fire and Rescue Services personnel. Cracks appeared in the Religious Minority Council(RMC),BTC region over the issue of supporting to the Bodoland Peoples Front(BPF) party in the ensuing Assam assembly election.The rift appeared in the council after president Sohrab Khan announced openly that RMC leaves to support the BPF party in the election. KLO untras arrested

Security forces from Assam Police and Army have claimed to capture two-over ground worker (OGW)/linkmen of Kamatapur Liberation Organisation(KLO) from Thuribari area in Kokrajhar district on Wednesday. Women’s Day celebrated at NTPC

Bongaigaon Thermal Power Project also joined the rest of the country in celebrating International Women’s Day here at Salakati on Tuesday in Kokrajhar district. UtpalChakrabarti, Group General Manager of NTPP spoke at length about the history of this august day and how at present society, women are leading at important positions throughout the world.
