One more extornist arrested

One more extornist arrested by police who was involved with extortion demand from a contractor of NTPC under Salakati police outpost in Kokrajhar late last night. Four persons were rushed to Harigaon yesterday to receive demand money in the name of NDFB-S where one Govindo Barman was red handed arrested, and on his revealed another involved person was arrested last night and two others are absconding. The arrested was identifiec as Biplob Debnath while absconding are identified as Krishna Debnath and Utpal Pandit. Police has been stepping to arrest the culprits who were involved with extortion served to common publics in the area, said a police officer.

Ndfb cadre killed in Kajigaon

A hardcore cadre of NDFB-S was killed in an encounter with security forces at Kajigaon Pathardubi area under Parbatjhora subdivision of Kokrajhar district early morning today. According to police, the militant outfit cadre was died on the spot while exchange of heavy fire was held with security forces 4.30 am this morning in the Kajigaon area.The cadre was identified as B Laoder of  Kajigaon area. A 7.65 pistol,8 live bullets, 2 hand grenades, 6 fired cartridges were recovered from him.

Theft at Bodoland Martyrs cemetery

2 died

At-least two persons killed along two cattles due to thunder strom hit today at Silbari under Bijni police station of Chirang.The deaths were identified as Shilaram Daimary(45) and Madan Basumatary(30) of Silbari village at padddy ground this morning.

2 NDFB held

Two hardcore cadres of NDFB(Songbijit faction) were arrested during search operation by security forces late last night from Sahebghat under Bijni police station of Chirang district.The cadres were identified as Worga Basumatary and Pusho Goyary of Panbari area.Two round live bullet and bi-cycles recovered from them,said a police officer.
