Calf rally in Kokrajhar

An awareness meeting on artificial insemination and calf rally, organised by ICDP, BTC in association with Veterinary officer, key village centre, Kokrajhar was held at Balajan near Bodoland University in Kokrajhar today. 

BTC executive member for Veterinary and Animal Husbandary department Shyam Sundi inaugurated the rally graced as chief guest. 

Sundi inspected the calf and interacted with owners of the calf about care taking of the animals. 

He said that BTC administration was working to make diseases free situation of the animals. 

'Farmers should step to devote dedication while taking care of animals and stress to earn livelihood among society', Sundi said. 

He has expressed his confidence that animal husbandry can extend economy sustainable to the common citizens.

Rahila Brahma, Secretory BTC, Dr Dilip Bhuyan, BTC CHD were prominent attendies in the programme.

Two held for fake certificate racket

Kokrajhar police have arrested two persons for allegedly issuing fake birth certificates to be used for NRC purpose.Identified as Zhumor Ali and Jahirul Sheik of Ghoramara, they were caught on Saturday for issuing fake birth certificatesThe duo were held after registering cases bearing No 638/15 U/S 471/468 IPC. Minor boy rescued; kidnapper held

Police and local residents in Santinagar area of Kokrajhar rescued a three-years-old boy by holding the kidnappers red handed on Thursday.Kidnapped ten days back, the minor boy Manash Mazumdar was rescued from Bishmuri area in the morning.He was kidnapped by some unknown miscreants from Santinagar who was rescued during a search operation much to the relief of his parents.Identified as Ananta Debnath of Salakati Banderchara, Manash Mazumdar Ananta revealed his misdeed.He confessed to have kidnapped the boy and took away by an authorikswa from his house. 4 hurt in Chirang miscreant attack

Sensation prevails in Chirang district hours after four people sustained injury in miscreant attack forcing police to step up investigation. The incident took place at Dhaligaon where unidentified miscreants attacked a group of people in the evening. Local residents told Assam Times that three miscreants suddenly attack a group of ten people on the road and vanished from the spot. Injured have been undergoing treatment at the Bongaigaon Civil Hospital. Police investigation is going on to nab the culprits involved in the attack.

NTPC Salakati workers boycot duty

The constrctual worker and laboureres engaged with the Bongaigaon Thermal Power Project Corporation (BNTPC) situated at Salakati in Kokrakjhar carried out a 72 hours boycotted duties starting from Monday morning and stayed away from duty for negligence of local candidate appointment in the project by the NTPC authority. The strike was held under the banner of Salakati Social Action Committee whch has been demanding for employment for the local people in the Group B, C and D since long time.The project that was approved in the year 2008 a cost of Rs. 4,720.40 crore with the total of 750 Mega Watt, three units with 250 MW each.
