Media T20 trophy won by DY365

The DY365 eleven has won the 3rd TG Baruah Memorial Media T20 Cricket Tournament 2016. They beat Janasadharan-Assam Talks team in the final match played on Tuesday at Judges Field of the city.

Winning the toss the DY365 captain Dhiraj Hazarika decided to bat first and his team after utilizing all 20 overs scored 124 runs. Diganta Deka (25) and Ankur Barthakur (18) contributed for DY365, where as Lakhyajit Gogoi captured two wickets.

In reply, Janasadharan-Assam Talks could score only 92 losing all wickets in 16.1 overs. Anupam Hazarika (33), Prasanta P. Dutta (11), where as Ankur Barthakur took three, Binay Kalita two and Rabin Das captured two wickets. Ankur Barthakur was awarded with the man of the match trophy.

All together 16 teams representing various media houses of Assam had participated in the tournament. Kamrup (Metro) Deputy Commissioner M. Angamathu, DTO Gautam Das, cultural personality Gopal Jalan and many senior journalists including Assam Talks editor Atanu Bhuyan, DY365 managing editor Pranay Bordoloi, independent journalist Nava Thakuria etc enjoyed the final match.

NEW DELHI: The process to update NRC in Assam will be further expedited as the Supreme Court has asked the authority to publish the final draft on June 30.A division bench of the country’s top court comprising Justice Ranjan Gogoi and Justice RF Narimon on Tuesday said that the second draft should be published on May 31. The final draft was asked to be published on June 30.The first NRC draft was published on December 31, 2017. The court further declined to change Pratik Hajela as state NRC coordinator and also to appoint one more person inthe same capacity.

PRASENJIT SAHA AGARTALA: The ruling CPM in Tripura has fielded Pallab Debverma in Charilam by polls slated for mid March.
