Angkur Jyoti Bora, a resident of Rahachaki village, Raha and a student of Ramanujan Junior College, Nagaon who topped in the State in Science stream, wants to become an engineer. He scored 488 out of 500 marks.
Talking to this correspondent he said that he had expected a position amongst the top but could not think of the toppest. “I have always wanted to serve people. Hence I want to become an engineer and serve the people,” he said.
He used to study about nine to ten hours a day. He too did not take any private coaching. My teachers were always ready to clear our doubts almost on a 24x7 basis. “This helped us a lot and I am proud of my college,” he said.
Son of late Ramesh Bora, who died 7 years back, and Anu Bora, a homemaker, Ankur’s hobbies are reading and watching cricket in TV. Angkur has two elder sisters who managed Ankur’s education cost by teaching local village students at their house.
Angkur attributed his success to his parents and teachers of the college where he read. Besides AASU Raha unit, several other organizations of the town felicitated Angkur on his way home from the college today. Pallavi Kachary , circle officer, Raha and other circle office employees too felicitated Angkur with a gamusa and a cash of Rs. 3000.
