In a bizarre move that leaves the BJP-led government red faced on the floor on Monday, AGP thrashed the Narendra Modi Government at the Centre for the controversial move on the Hindu Bangladeshi nationals.
Former Chief Minister and AGP leader PK Mahanta said that he was dead opposed to the move and that it would be an insult to the spirit of Assam Accord.
However, AGP president Atul Bora who holds the agriculture minister looked very disappointed when his predecessor rose to speak on the controversial move to give refugee status for the Hindu nationals of the neighbouring countries.

Why Can't they go and settle in west bengal? Assam is already a semi-bengal. Mahanta did a good job by raising his opinion. Ruling the govt doesn't mean you don't have a voice against election manifesto.
Caught in a grim controversy BJP has tendered apology for the immigrant tag for the north easterners in the poll manifesto. Party leader Ravi Shankar Prasad tendered apology before the north easterners on Wednesday a day after the two words touched off a seismic wave of anger and protest across the region. Notably, in its assembly poll manifesto, BJP called the north easterners immigrants who need to be protected in the national capital forcing the various political parties and organizations to erupt in anger and protest. All these parties and organizations demanded prime minister Narendra Modi and BJP to tender unconditional apology which forced the people to feel let down.

A local court in West Bengal remanded Matang Sinh to 12 days judicial custody a day after CBI arrested the former Union minister in connection with the Saradha scam.According to Assam Times Crimes Research Bureau, Sinh is undergoing stomach ailment treatment at the NRS Hospital in Kolkata and therefore, the CBI failed to take him in their custody.
