NDFB-S cadre held

Security forces belonging to Assam Police and Army arrested, at a join operation arrested a cadre of NDFB-S from Patabari area under Runikhata PS in Chirang district on Wednesday . The cadre was identified as Swmkhwr Kaklary alias K Saiklom. An Insus riffle, magazine and 60 live rounds recovered from  him.

Tribal organisations oppose ST status

Several tribal organisations of the state including All Assam Tribal Sangha (AATS), All Bodo Students Union (ABSU), NDFB-P, JACAS, PJACBM have  opposed the granting of ST status to the six communities. The former president of the Tribal Sangha, Ranjit Kumar Borgoyary criticised the central government for granting ST status to the six communities. CIT upgrades into Deemed University

The Central Institute of Technology (CIT),Kokrajhar, a centrally funded institute in lower Assam's Kokrajhar district, has been upgraded to Deemed to be University(Deemed University). The centre and the UGC have recommended the Deemed University on the third week of December last which is paving the way quality education services across the BTAD as well lower Assam districts. Sonowal lays foundation stone of Kokrajhar Medical College

Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal laid the foundation stone for construction of Kokrajhar Medical College and Hospital(KMCH) at Beswargaon near Debargaon in Kokrajhar on Sunday in the presence of Health minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma, BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary. Himanta visits Kokrajhar

Assam Health Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma said that Kokrajhar medical college would be constructed with amounting of Rs. 382.7 crores and its completion will be done by next three years. Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal will lay foundation stone on January 6 for College at Debargaon Beswargaon in Kokrajhar district. Senior inter district archery championship begins in Kokrajhar

The 16th All Assam Senior Inter District Archery Championship -2018 was kicked start from Saturday at Dheer Beel near Chakrashila Wildlife Sanctuary in Kokrajhar district.
