NDFB (S) informer held

Police apprehended a suspected over ground worker/sympathizer of NDFB-S identified as Paulina Basumatary 22, wife of a NDFB-S cadre Compounder alias Khaose from No 1 Nandipur village under Kachugaon police station in Kokrajhar district .

Police said Rs 15,000 (extorted from Audung Bazar area) have been recovered from her possession which was supposed to be handed over to NDB-S cadre.

She was working as a channel of communication between the NDFB-S cadres and over ground worker in that area through her husband. She has been playing a very important role in siphoning off extortion money to the outfit in Myanmar through the OGWs/sympathisers.

BTC review meeting on October 5

A review meeting on BTC accord implementation will held in Delhi in October 5 to discuss the implementation of the clauses of the historic BTC accord. Rapist father held in Kokrajhar

The Kokrajhar police have arrested a person for allegedly raping his daughter. The incident took place at Bhoomki part 1 under Salakati police outpost in the BTAD district where identified as Amjad Ali allegedly raped his 11 years old daughter recently. He was arrested in connection with Kokrajhar P. S. Case No. 589/17 U/S 4 of POCSO Act on the basis of FIR lodged by his wife. Investigation is on into the incident, said a senior police officer.

ABSU slams Serman Ali

The All Bodo Students Union(ABSU) has come down heavily on Congress MLA Serman Ali for hid unconstitutional words on Harishangkhar Brahma over reports of the land right and protection committee.   Sermen Ali Ahmed has breached the ethics of constitutional obligations to serious discrimination by using the highly objectionable words against the Former Chief Election Commissioner.   “This is very much unfortunate that such an MLA has brought down the dignity of Assam Assembly being the member and ABSU appeals that Serman Ali will not repeat such a comment in future which is calibrated with communal intent', the ABSU said.

ULFA general secretary Anup Chetiya has urged the government to ensure safety and security of the indigenous people in the state. Husband kills wife, commits suicide

Yet another case of double murder strikes no less anger and sensation in BTAD areas on where a couple was found killed inside their house on Wednesday. The incident took place at Salbari village in Bongaigaon where the bodies were recovered inside their house. Identified as Ganesh Barman and his wife Pampi Barman, they were  found dead with marks of injury. Local residents told Assam Times that Ganesh was believed to gave killed his wife before he committed suicide. Police and local residents broke the doors and recovered the bodies.

Coaching for National Tchoukball championship concludes

 A 50-day coaching camp for the Assam state Tchoukball was concluded on Monday at Haltugaon Tinali in Kokrajhar district. Sahitya pensioner Chittaranajan hospitalized, face financial suffer

 Bodo community’s greatest novelist,Sahitya Pensioner Chittaranjan Mashahary has been hospitalised due to aillment two-day back at Kokrajhar RNB civil hospital. Mushahary has been suffering from multiple-diseases in his 76 years-old.
