NDFB (S) informer held

Police apprehended a suspected over ground worker/sympathizer of NDFB-S identified as Paulina Basumatary 22, wife of a NDFB-S cadre Compounder alias Khaose from No 1 Nandipur village under Kachugaon police station in Kokrajhar district .

Police said Rs 15,000 (extorted from Audung Bazar area) have been recovered from her possession which was supposed to be handed over to NDB-S cadre.

She was working as a channel of communication between the NDFB-S cadres and over ground worker in that area through her husband. She has been playing a very important role in siphoning off extortion money to the outfit in Myanmar through the OGWs/sympathisers.

Sensation prevails in Kokrajhar following unidentified miscreants killed  a temple priest on Sunday. Hours after the incident police detained two persons in this connection. At least one person died and twenty others  sustained serious injuries when the bus in which they were travelling collided its head on another bus at Alipurduar in West Bengal on Saturday. The mishap took place early in the morning and both the buses were over loaded with passengers. Thr driver of a bus who sustained grave injury later died in the hospital. Other injured passengers have been battling for life at the hospital. Traffic snarl disrupted normal movement of vehicles for several hours.  
The All Bodo Student's Union(ABSU) has come down heavily on education minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma for appointment of non-Bodo medium teachers in Bodo medium schools across the state when the student body was taking out a protest rally in Kokrajhar on Friday.Hundreds of student's union activists and citizens participated with banner,placards along with torch in the rally and shouted slogans on demand of appointment of Bodo medium background teachers in Bodo medium schools.The rally started from Bodofa Children park in Kokrajhar traversed to Pragati Bhawan via JD Road.

Baksa police apprehended two gamblers during a raid at Simlabari area in Barbari area on Thursday. Acting on a tip off, police conducted immediate a search operation where the duo were arrested. They were identified as Gokul Deka and Uday Kumar.
Kokrajhar police have arrested a person three days after he allegedly kidnapped a married woman who was safely rescued.  The woman was rescued a couple of hours after the incident  from Alomganj area under Gauripur poluce station of Dhubri distric and acting on het statement the person was arrested.   Identified as Sahidul Ali, he was picked up at Alomganj village in Gauripur after the rescue of the victim.
