CITU organizes rally in Kokrajhar
Hundreds of ICDS worker, helper, mid day meal workers and tea estate workers join hands with banner, placard in the rally demanding regularization of jobs,stop of price hikes and fill up vacant post lying in the state and centre government’s line departments across the country.
The rally was organized by Centre of Indian Trade Union (CITU), started from Rashmela ground via RNB Road to DC office,fly over and concluded at the same point. Ralliest demanded early regularization of jobs,who were engaged in ICDS,MDM,ASHA,NRHM and provide 18,000 as monthly salaries, stop huge prices hikes in the market which have been creating resented among citizens, allot pension schemes for engaged labor and employees are prominent demands of the rally.
Indumati Brahma,ICDS worker,Jayanti Basumatary,MDM worker said that they have been working in the ICDS schemes at a loose salary,yet they have not been got regular salaries.We have been deprived from different fronts of rights and infrastructural aspects in the schools,they said.
They demanded that government should take bold initiative to solve issue and problems face by ICDS and MDM workers.
Santash Guha,CITU leader told that government failed to check price hikes in the country. He has demanded government should come forward with positive step to facilitate peoples’ welfare measures so that citizens can get healthy living across the country.

Kokrajhar: Former BTC member of council legislative assembly (MCLA) Rajendra Narzary passes away on Sunday around 2.30 pm at a private hospital in Guwahati.
He was in his 50s.
He leaves behind wife Ajanta Narzary, a school teacher, two sons.
His body is being brought to his native place in Gossaigaon.
He last rites will be performed tomorrow.
Narzary also served as president of Gossaigaon unit All Bodo Students Union(Absu).
He was also associated with several organization in the area.
Kokrajhar: A massive fire has gutted at Dadgiri Bazar along the Indo-Bhutan border in Chiang district.
The fire broke out due to cylinder explosion at a hotel that engulfed to the nearby shops. 11 shops were destroyed in the fire.
The incident took place by 3.30 am in the early morning on Saturday.
The gutted shops includ rice shops ,crocery and few saloons.
Nearly 7 lakhs worth of properties reportedly destroyed in the fire.
Kokrajhar: Four persons, including a cadre of the National Democratic Front of Boroland (NDFB-S) were arrested by security forces from different two places in Kokrajhar and Chirang district on Wednesday.
According to Police,based on a tiptop information about movement of NDFB cadres, a joint operation was launched by Gossaigaon police alongwith Army and CRPF Cobra Battalion in Auxiguri village under Kachugaon police station in Kokrajhar disrict in the early morning and managed to arrest a cadre with arms.The cadre was identified as Rohiton Narzary (33) of Oxiguri village under Soraibil police outpost.

Kokrajhar,May 25: Kokrajhar police,RPF,ABSU apprehended three suspected human traffickers and rescued two minor girls from traffickers at Brahmaputra train at Kokrajhar rail station this evening.
The persons were tried to trafficked girls to Delhi keeping lobby of jobs.The rescued girls are from Biswanath Chariali and they boarded train at Rangia station.
Getting information about the trafficking, ABSU workers from Kokrajhar district unit committee of ABSU,Kokrajgar police and RPF carried out a search along the train and arrested the person and rescued the two minor girls.The rescued girls are under 15-16 year age group.

Kokrajhar: Namrata Nath of Bongaigaon Refinery HS School, Dhaligaon,Chirang has brought enthusiastic laurel in Dhaligaon as well BTAD region, spotted in the 6th position in Science Stream in the HS final examination’s results declared on Saturday.
Namrata, daughter of Bhabananda Nath and Buli Rani Kakati Nath, an employee of BRPL,Bongaigaon, has passed the HS(Science) scripting 6th position, has secured 472 marks having letter marks in all subjects.

Three persons were killed and six others serious injuried due to lightning at various places in Kokrajhar district on Saturday.
Nareswar Basumatary (55) Lakhan Basumatary (35) of Takumpur, Kachugaon dies when they were struck by lightning in the early morning of Saturday. Manik Basumatary (3) of the same family received serious injury at the same incident.
In another incident,three persons including a six month old baby received serious injuries due to lightning at Kachugaon Mainaguri. Kokrajhar: Kokrajhar police apprehended six Bangladeshis (declared foreigners) from Gossaigaon subdivision in Kokrajhar district on Tuesday.
Based on the court order, police apprehended the persons who have failed to show necessary document during the citizenship verification. They are identified as Samad Fakir (Garumarachar),Tassen Ali Sheikh (No.3 Simultapu), Pramod Das (No.1 Simultapu), Shyamala Das (No.1 Simultapu), Mazjiron Bibi and Rohiton Bibi (re gaining up',said a senior police officer.
Kokrajhar: Three tier security arrangement has been made in the Strong Rooms where EVMs are kept in Kokrajhar.

At least two persons died and two others received serious injuries due to thunderstorm struck in lower Assam's Chirang and Barpeta districts on Sunday.
A 16 year old girl died and two others received serious injuries of a family at a remote village due to thunderstruck in Chirang district. A heavy thunderstorm and rain at around 4.30 in the afternoon which claimed a student of class X student of Bishdowa village, Panbari in Chirang district. The deceased was identified as Ajmina Kathun, daughter of Ajijul Haque. Two others of the same family received serious injuries. They were immediately rushed to local hospital.
