KPLT declares unilateral cease fire

The banned armed outfit Karbi People's Liberation Tigers (KPLT) declared unilateral cease fire for six months. The militant outfit, remained active in Karbi Anglong district of central Assam, has already sent a letter to the Union government in this regard.

It may be mentioned that the KPLT rebels are engaged in various disruptive activities like extortion, kidnapping and even killing in the hilly district for some years. The outfit also lost many of its leader and cadres in numerous counter-insurgency operations carried out by the security forces.
