Sherlyn Narzary bags Miss North East Celestial Diva Beauty

Sherlyn Narzary of Udalguri district of Assam has been crowned Miss North East Celestial Diva Beauty Pageant contest in the grand finale held at Bodofa Cultural Complex in Kokrajhar on Friday evening. Beauty contest championship would be getting direct entry into Miss Sriya beauty contest in the country.

The beauty contest was organized by Sunrise Production Society, Kokrajhar to haunt beauty talent and energetic youngs among society in the northeastern states.

Altogether 16 top modelers were put forwarded to ramp in the grand finale.In the finale, Miss Sherlyn Narzary from Udalguri district has been crowned in the beauty contest. Mridusmita Borah of Tejpur and Andrea Khalongki of Shillong were adjusted first and second runners up respectively.

Swgwmshar Basumatary, president of Bodoland Students Union handed over cash 2 lakhs and a citation to Miss Crown. First runners up awarded 50,000 and a citation while second runners up was given away 35,000 and a citation.

'I am very excited having won the beauty contest in Kokrajhar. I would be continued this profession for long life', said Sherlyn after received the award.

Noted Bollywood actor Mahima Choudhury graced as chief guest in the grand finale. She has appreciated organizers in the region through which budding talents are getting plateform and communication in the beauty contest arena across the country. Kampa Borgoyary, BTC deputy chief lighted the lamp to open the beauty contest and wished a healthy successful in Bodoland region.

Payel, modeler and judge in the contest said that it is a beginning in the region as huge participants took part in the show with strong enthusiasm. She has lauded the initiative to bring modeling situation among society. A multi cultural showcase was also organized in the function. Noted singers Anaya Brahma, Gautam Brahma, cultural troops from various parts of the country presented beautiful cultural entertainment.

KOKRAHAR: A sense of alarm has gripped the Jharbari area after a timber smuggler was discovered dead in a firing incident during the early hours of the morning in Kokrajhar. Apurna Narzary, an international women's football player, has been nominated for the Emerging Player award for 2022-23 by the Sports & Youth Welfare department of the government of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR). Narzary has represented India in several international events and is the daughter of Biswajit Narzary of Khagrabari village in Kokrajhar district.
