A Swedist tourist expressed his happiness and attraction over seeing Golden langur, a rare species found in Chakrashila wildlife sanctuary in Kokrajhar district. Fedrick, a Sweden tourist, who is staying in Kokrajhar for three days to see Golden langur along Chakrashila wildlife sanctuary visited the beautiful natural scenery and gardening in the area. He termed that Golden langue found in this sanctuary is very rare and looking beautiful to see on its physical structure. He said he has come here to take video shot and photographs on golden langur, which is found only in this region in the world. He said Assam and this region have a good natural beautification with rare species that bring tourists across the world. He has expressed his hopeful that this region could be healthy tourist spot if tourist arena be uplifted in the state. He said that he love natural beauty scene in the jungle of India that attracts human minds.

Bhutan police apprehended two persons along with three young girls at a Hotel at Gelephu in Bhutan on Friday, who was handed over to Kokrajhar police, who were suspected, involved with sexual cases, on Saturday. According to Kokrajhar police, two persons hailed from Taranguri village under Kokrajhar PS visited to Gelephu along three young girls yesterday and holds at a hotel while they were apprehended on suspected situation. Sal logs seized in Kokrajhar

Forest staff and Dotma police, once again seized Sal logs at Bhutiapara village near Balanga bazaar along the Gongia River which were brought by timber smugglers through river wave under Dotma PS in Kokrajhar district early this morning. Based on a tiptop information about smuggling timbers through Gongia River,forest staff from Sanfan Range under Kachugaon division and Dotma police jointly launched search operation along the river late last night able to rescue 40 pieces of Sal logs which were brought through river wave by smugglers. BTAD teachers warn hunger-strike

BTAD TET Teachers’ Association has warned for indefinite hunger strike from October 2 next if their jobs were not regularized within September 30 of this month. Bhupen Hazarika birth anniversary
