N Biren Singh to take oath Wednesday

Veteran politician and BJP leader N Biren Singh is taking oath as Manipur chief minister on Wednesday. Governor Dr Najma Heptulla will administer him the oath of office and secrecy at a ceremony at 1 in the afternoon.

Singh is expected to take oath along with six others who include NPP and NPF legislators. Senior BJP leaders Prakash Javadekar, Ram Madhab, Himanta Biswa Sarma are expected to attend the ceremony at the Raj Bhawan.

Singh was elected as the BJP legislative body leaders on Monday after the party legislators formally staked claims to form the government.
