Bike rally in support of Bodoland

The All Bodo Students Union(ABSU) and its movement group NDFB(P),PJACBM have again reiterate organized a grand bike rally in support seeking separate Bodoland state under Article 2 & 3 of Indian constitution today in Kokrajhar along with rest of different districts in the state.

Although government had promised to hold tripartite talks over the Bodoland by April 14 during the indefinite-hunger strike on March 15, but still today any formal invitation letter about holding peace talk was reached to the ABSU and its allied movement groups.

 The rally was started from Jnagkritai Pwthar in Kokrajhar via new fly over traversed to Kargaon,Owabari, Kalipukhri,Haltugaon Tinali,Simbargaon,Bishmuri, Alangi,Gossaigaon,Bhawraguri,Dotma.

 Nearly 500 activists from ABSU, NDFB (P), and PJACBM with banner, placards participated in the rally and demanded early creation of Bodoland state.

Promod Boro, ABSU president flagged off the rally. Boro said that students union NAD its allied movement groups are awaiting the invitation letter from government to participate in the tripartite talks over Bodoland. He said that the movement for Bodoland would be continued till achieve of Bodoland in the region. He has urged the government to take stern measures while solving Bodoland issue; otherwise it will be face strong movement in coming days.

Along with other parts of the country, Kokrajhar observed  Bijaya Dashami of Durga Puja on Saturday by immersing the idols of the goddess of strength. Yet another witch hunting incident fans no less shock and anger across the on Monday two days after it came to light. The incident took place at a remote helmet in Chirang district bordering Bhutan where thr body of the victim was recovered on Saturday. The Kokrajhar police have arrested a person for allegedly raping his daughter. The incident took place at Bhoomki part 1 under Salakati police outpost in the BTAD district where identified as Amjad Ali allegedly raped his 11 years old daughter recently. He was arrested in connection with Kokrajhar P. S. Case No. 589/17 U/S 4 of POCSO Act on the basis of FIR lodged by his wife. Investigation is on into the incident, said a senior police officer.
The All Bodo Students Union(ABSU) has come down heavily on Congress MLA Serman Ali for hid unconstitutional words on Harishangkhar Brahma over reports of the land right and protection committee.   Sermen Ali Ahmed has breached the ethics of constitutional obligations to serious discrimination by using the highly objectionable words against the Former Chief Election Commissioner.   “This is very much unfortunate that such an MLA has brought down the dignity of Assam Assembly being the member and ABSU appeals that Serman Ali will not repeat such a comment in future which is calibrated with communal intent', the ABSU said.
