Bodo Romantic film to hit screen

A new video film will hit the screen to entertain the Boro people in Assam. Courtesy RB Film Production. Social activist Rajyarshi Basumatary switched-on the camera to inaugurate the Mohurot for the ‘Pwrmaiso Haywi Gwsw' at Paglababa Shiva Temple in Kojrajhar on Thursday.

The romantic Boro film will highlight social arena of young-peoples with Ganesh Boro in direction of the story scripted by Rabindra Swargiyary.

The shooting would take place in different locations including Shimla, Gangtok, Shillong besides local beautiful scenes in BTC as well Assam. Singers Sulekha Basumatary, Bittu Narzary, Biraj Brahma are expected to help the film get huge response.

Talking to Assam Times, Riya Brahma, producer of the RB film production said that there is no dearth of beautiful location in the entire country.

Director Ganesh Boro said,”It is the first video film presented by RB film production in Kokrajhar. The Bodo film is facing several hardships in their leading due to scarcity of cinema hall/video halls in the region. The producers are producing cinemas on their huge expensive without any returned of their costs.”

Caught  in a barrage of criticism, Assam agriculture minister Atul Bora has ordered an inquiry into the alleged activities resulting in the useless crops production in Kokrajhar when he was on a visit to the BTAD district on Tuesday.. A two day Cancer Screening camp has began from Tuesday at Marowary Yuba Mancha Bhawan in Kokrajhar to bring awareness and screening of cancer diseases among common masses in the region.   BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary inaugurated the camp, which was organized by Marowary Yuba Mancha and Jagriti, Kokrajhar.  Nearly 200 persons from different areas of the district took part in the camp. A 17 year old girl trafficked to Delhi from Kokrajhar a month back was rescued and brought back home today. The minor girl was trafficked from a remote village under Bishmuri police outpost in Kokrajhar a month back by her own brother-in-law Hopna Mardi and later handed over to an agency in Kanpur. According to the girl she was taken by brother-in-law with promise of providing good job. She said she was first taken to Kanpur where she was kept for a week before taking to Delhi where she was put up in a house as a maid. The girl managed to run and called her family over phone. One person died on the spot while two others received injury due to elephant attack on SUnday night at Saralpara village along Indo-Bhutan border in Kokrajhar district. According to villagers, a herd of wild elephant reached the village by 10 pm and vandalized around five houses too in the village where a person was trampled to death and two others received serious injuries.
