Wild elephants kills 1, injures 2

One person died on the spot while two others received injury due to elephant attack on SUnday night at Saralpara village along Indo-Bhutan border in Kokrajhar district.

According to villagers, a herd of wild elephant reached the village by 10 pm and vandalized around five houses too in the village where a person was trampled to death and two others received serious injuries. Injured were rushed to Kokrajhar RNB civil hospital. Victim was identified as Lal Bahadur Chetry (58), and injures are Dinonath Adhikari (70) and one is yet to he known. 

Forest minister Pramila Rani Brahma said that the wild elephants come out along the human habituated area in search of foods, so the conflict in between man and elephants are happening in the state

KOKRAJHAR: Security forces apprehended a hard-core cadre of the National Democratic Front of Boroland-Saoraigwra faction (NDFB-S) on Friday from Samukha Nala area under Bishmuri police outpost in Kokrajhar district. KOKRAJHAR: One person died in Kokrajhar due to Japanese Enchapalitis (JE) on Monday. The deceased has been identified as Rijendra Nath Brahma (72) of Patakata, Kokrajhar district. Brahma was admitted to MRM hospital, Kokrajhar on Sunday. He breathed his last on Monday morning. Earlier, he was discharged from Apollo hospital Guwahati where he was treated for Japanese Enchapalitis. Brahma was a retired block education officer. District surveillance officer,Kokrajhar, Dr Amol Mochary told the media that so far two persons have died due to Japanese Enchapalitis  related in the district. KOKRAJHAR:  In a innovative well in the Sapkata River in Kokrajhar district where water flows from bottom to top attracts visitors. The well is located at Dhwrwmpur village near Athiabari under Serfanguri Police Station, nearly 60 Kms away from Kokrajhar district headquarters to the north. According to villagers, a well was constructed by villagers of Dhwrwmpur and its adjoining areas in the Sapkata river in 1991 to produce drinking water. KOKRAJHAR: A five year old minor male boy was found at Kokrajhar railway station in Kokrajhar.The boy was today produced before the  child welfare committee(CWC) Kokrajhar and has sent to child destination home at Anthaigwlao Chandrapara in Kokrajhar. Kokrajhar: A total 144 relief camps have been opened for 125,181 flood affected peoples in Kokrajhar and Chirang districts in BTAD region. Altogether 86,500 flood affected peoples are taking shelter at 120 relief camps across the Kokrajhar district which are severely affected in the flash floods. Even though,river waters are now low,yet affected are getting reported from various areas in the district.
