Hagrama’s concern over conviction of DHD leaders

BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary expressed concern over conviction of DHD leaders by NIA  on Monday. He said  that the government should rethink over the judgement while addressing BPF's CWC meet at in Kokrajhar to discuss on party affairs.


Mohilary expressed serious concern over NIA conviction of DHD leaders like Jowel Garlosa, Niranjan Hojai, Mohit Hojai who are going under NIA cases even though they had signed accord with government . He has urged the government to rethink over the conviction of DHD leaders in the NIA court.

As DHD leaders had signed accord with government, but today’s conviction judgement was a matter of concern. Government should have exempted them (DHD leaders) from the cases’, Mohilary said.

The BPF has decided to contest in the upcoming panchayat election with new strategies. BPF minority cell was formed with Allaudin Sheik (Mushalpur) as president and Sultan Alom (Kokrajhar) as secretary to run the party in smooth and discipline. Former ABMSU president Sahabuddin Ahmed and 11 members from NDFB (Ranjan Daimary) joins in BPF party where they were accorded facilitated in the.

Five more NDFB-Ranjan Daimary faction members joined BPF on Monday. The Bodo Sahitya Sabha (BSS) remembered Subungthini Thandwi Bineswar Brahma, former president of Bodo Sahitya Sabha, paying floral tribute at burial place o his 17th death anniversary  in Kokrajhar on Saturday. Brahma was shot dead by armed extremist at his Bhetapara residence in Guwahati on 19th August in 2000 when he was president of the Bodo Sahitya Sabha. Two accidental deaths in two different places sent no less shock in Kojrajhar on Friday. The first one took place at Islampur where a woman  was  electrocuted to death.     According to police, one Rashida Bibi (35) wife of  Wajj Ali of Islampur village Kazigaon in Kokrajhar district died of electricution.The incident took place around 5:30 am in the morning as she went to the nearby electric post where she has been electrocuted.  In separate incident in Chirang, a body was found floating on the Champawati River at Basugaon of Chirang district. Altogether 80 teachers  received appointment letters for the post of headteacher and assistant headteacher in High Schools at a programme held at BTC secretariat conference hall in Kokrajhar in Friday. The appointment letter was issued by education department of BTC. Seventy three was appointed as headteacher and seven are as assistant headteacher in the four districts of BTAD. Many student bodies in Kokrajhar took out a huge rally in Friday demanding CBI probe into the killing of Lafikul Islam Ahmed which took place 18 days ago.  A pall of gloom descends in Kokrajhar when five children met watery grave in the district in the post flood scene during that last 24 hours.  All the minor boys  were drowned in two different villages in Gosaaigaon circle . They drowned at their nearby different ponds within 24-hours since Wednesday.  They have been identified as Afruja Kathun, Fatema Kathun, Jiyarul Ali, Rejina Kathun and Manjuma Kathun.
