World Population Day observed
Under the aegis of Orang Primary Health Centre and Udalguri Health Committee assisted by BPF district minority cell World Population Day was observed in Aminpara School at Rowta of Udalguri with a day long programme on Tuesday. The programme which was presided by headmaster Azizul Haque was attended as chief guest by Majbat legilator Charan Boro .The programme was anchored by Orang PHC BPM Pankaj Sabhapandit while Dr. Bipin Rabha retired joint director of health ,Udalguri threw light on aspects of family planning . He spoke on length on permanent and temporary contraceptive methods.
While Dr. Shyam Prasad Rajmedhi Sub-divisional Medical and Health officer cleared rumours prevailing specially on minority dominated areas regarding vaccines of infertility.
Mazbat Legislator Charan Boro highlighted on the dangers of population explosion and thanked Jakir Hussain Chowdhury Secretary of BPF's minority cell for organising such event in a minority dominated area like Rowta.The ASHA workers of Orang PHC also enacted a street play on the ocassion
on the theme of population explosion. Devotional songs viz. Jikir and Jari were also sung on the ocassion.Jakir Hussain Chowdhury highlighted the demirits of child marriage on the ocassion.The programme was also attended by many senior cutizens,noted persons of the district.

TANGLA: The Land and Revenue Department of BTC had suspended a revenue officer of Harisinga Revenue Circle Office on charges of graft on Monday. The long time allegations of a section of public that the officials have to be bribed to move any file where proven true after a video of a revenue officer(Lot Mandal) of the Circle Office caught accepting bribe on camera went viral in social media sites. TANGLA: Three students of Don Bosco High School in Tangla here fled from their hostel on Tuesday last which has created palpable sensation among the boarders of the school and the guardians of the missing students. TANGLA: In a tragic incident, a mother and her son got electrocuted by unauthorized electric cable laid by villagers to deter the wild elephants at Majuligrant village along the Indo-Bhutan border in Udalguri on Sunday morning.
