Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti organizes rally in Golaghat

Today the town of Golaghat came to a stand still when nearly ten thousands people all ages marched to the town from Doyang Tengani region which is situated at a distance of 30 Kms from Golaghat town, bearing the scorching heat to attend a mass rally organized by KMSS (Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti). Addressing the rally Akhil Gogoi, secretary of KMSS severely criticized the role of the state govt. in providing land rights to the forest dwellers of the state. He said that the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has already issued direction to the Chief Ministers of every state as per the provisions of Scheduled Tribes and Other Traditional Forest Dwellers (Recognition of Forest Rights) Act, 2006 to take necessary steps to provide land rights to the traditional forest dwellers. Accordingly various states like Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Orissa, Uttar Pradesh etc has already formulated guidelines to provide land rights to the traditional forest dwellers but 2_831053219.jpgthe Assam Govt. has failed to show its seriousness in this regard. Gogoi also critcised the unparallel treatment given by the Central Govt. towards the flood situation in Assam. He also demanded a Rs.2000 crore package for Assam’s flood and proper rehabilitation of flood affected people.

Speaking on the occasion B.D. Sarma, ex-Vice Chancellor of NEHU and ex-Commissioner of SC and ST Commission, said that “Law is for people, people are not for law”. If it is necessary to safeguard the interest of our farmers an Act can be amended, because it is the duty of the Govt. to understand the plight of its citizen. He also appealed KMSS to take steps to raise their voice for the flood affected people of the state. On the other hand noted leader of farmer’s Land Patta movement Mr. Bijoy Pandey said that the Govt. has failed to perform its duty to its people.

After the rally KMSS took out a large possession in the town and submitted a memorandum through the Deputy Commissioner of Golaghat Dist. to the Chief Minister of Assam, Mr. Tarun Gogoi demanding immediate implementation of Scheduled Tribes and Other Traditional Forest Dwellers (Recognition of Forest Rights) Act, 2006, permanent solution to the flood and erosion problem of Assam, proper built up of embankment and stop construction large river damn projects, providing ENREGA job card to every rural family and fix the daily wage at Rs. 150, check rampant corruption in the Public Distribution System etc.

Without hesitation i am writing to you in this prefix hope you can enlight this issue as I Doubt, Future Elections will be a mockery.The question that is suppressed under a conspirical silence, is the EVM manipulation. There are some moaning voice from some corners like this news.. Electronic Victory Machines ..the electronic chip of the EVM machine can be programmed, Why is EC not revealing where the chips are manufactured? I heard it is manufactured in Japan & US.The very conduct of the Election commission is deeply suspicious. The reality bites,Now in future, the ruling party will be going to decide the result through EVM, and the opposition parties, will find it more profitable to lose than winning (by getting double the amount they would be spending on election from the ruling party for ignoring election fraud.
