Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal will lay the foundation stone of the APL Expansion project in Namrup on Friday.

Disclosing this at a press meet on Tuesday, APL managing director  Ratul Bordoloi said " the manufacturing cost for  the new APL Expansion Project is Rs 1338 crores and it will be becompleted approximately within 3 years . After the completion of the project it will produce 500 TPD of  Methanol per day.”

Army organizes medical camp at Charaideo

NAMRUP: The Sonari Army under DAO Division organised a free medical check-up and assistance camp in Manjushree Tea Garden under Charaideo district on Friday, wherein necessary medical advice and assistance was provided along with free medicines to the locals numbering nearly 600 from various adjoining villages. The medical camp was appreciated by all  and people of all age groups came forward to benefit from the camp, it also provided a platform for a healthy and positive interaction with the people of the region. 4th International Yoga day celebrated in Namrup

  NAMRUP: Along with other parts of world, the 4th International Yoga Day was also celebrated at Namrup. The programme was formally inaugurated by BVFCL Chief Managing Director (CMD), Shyam Deo Singh by ceremonial lighting of lamp in BVFCL Gandhi Maidan Indoor Stadium. Ailing journalist gets help

Namrup:  The Dibrugarh District administration would take the medical responsibility of Bipul Bhagwati, a senior journalist suffering from a critical illness. Hearing about the health condition of the ailing journalist, the Deputy Commissioner, Dibrugarh assured the Assam Press Cooresspondent Union local unit today that the administration would extend all medical assistance to Bhagawati.  

Free medical camp by Army

Namrup: The Maibella Army Camp under DAO Division organized a free medical check up and assistance camp as part of the Army’s “Winning of Heart and Mind Campaign Drive” in Rohdoi  Ali village of Charaideo  district recently. The camp was attended by some 400 people from 10 neighbouring villages. Free medicines were also distributed among the patients.   

Nagen Bora passes away

Namrup:  A pioneer of the Assam Movement and founder of Assam Yuba Chatra  Parishad Namrup Regional Committee, Nagen Bora breathed his last at his own residence here in Namrup on Sunday due to old age ailments. He was 82 and left behind his wife, two son and three daughters.  Actively associated with a number of socio-political organizations of Namrup, Bora was sent to prison on a number of occasions during the Assam agitation. His death was widely mourned.  

World environment day celebrated in Namrup

Namrup: Today all over the world is facing natural  calamities due to  cutting of green lands  and making buildings, sky towers. Namrup shows colour of success in HS Exam

Namrup: BVFCL Model HS School has stolen the march in the HS examination with cent per cent success drawing huge applause from all fronts on Thursday.Altogether 39 students in the first one batch of the school appeared in the science and arts streams conducted by the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council where the pass percentage is 100%.Next to this new school is the BVFCL HS School where 81.25% students cleared the arts stream while in science  the pass percentage is 93.45%.
