Cricket coaching concludes in Namrup

 

Namrup: The days winter cricket coaching camp concluded in Namrup on Thursday. The 21 days event concluded at an open meeting at the Gandhi Maidan organised by Namrup Cricket Academy in support of Assam Cricket Association and CAN Naharkatia.

ULFA reiterates Assam sovereignty, lashes out at Mrinal

After a brief silence, the United Liberation Front of Asom on Tuesday makes it further plain and simple that it will not deviate from the armed struggle for an independent Assam. In its mouthpiece, Swadhinota, the banned rebel outfit dared the government to hold plebiscite on the question of Assam sovereignty. ULFA said the government’s on going peace initiative a big farce and that these will not be able to bring them to talk this way.


It also slammed its pro truce leader Mrinal Hazarika, Jiten Dutta et al that they are psedo revolutionaries and that Hazarika who announced unilateral ceasefire with the government is more a government spokesman and less a former rebel leader. According to them, Hazarika’s stand on sovereignty resembles to that Union home secretary G K Pillai and Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi.

Reject communal forces: Rahul to Tripura voters

AGARTALA: Congress president Rahul Gandhi has appealed to the voters in Tripura to reject the communal forces in the upcoming assembly polls slated for Sunday.

Addressing a poll rally in Unakoti just a couple of hours before the end of electioneering on Friday Gandhi said Congress can only provide the north eastern state a stable government to ensure sustainable development.

Taking a dig at BJP, the Nehru-Gandhi family scion said the saffron party leaders including prime minister Narendra Modi keep making false promises to woo the voters.

He called Modi a lier adding that he has been running the government at the Centre with many lies for the last four years.

Top party leaders including Puducherry CM, Prithviraj Chauhan, former Uttarakhand Chief minister Harish Rawat were prominent among those who campaigned for the party candidate.

Pwrman,Taposh cracks UPSC

Kokrajhar: It is a good messages amongst Bodo community as two Bodo students have cleared the union public service commission(UPSC) civil service examinations 2018 which was declared on Friday evening that saw 13 students from across the state cleared the UPSC.

Pwrman Brahma of Kokrajhar town has cleared the UPSC examination with scripting 429th ranked across the country. He is son of Dhaneswar Brahma of Kokrajhari village.

Pwrman, had his schooling in Sister Margaret Nobel School,Kokrajhar, HSLC from Kokrajhar Don Bosco in 2009 and HS from Bikash Bidyaniketan, Basakapattanam and Graduated from NIT, Durgapur in 2015 and cracked the UPSC 2018 after third time attempt.

Pwrman said that it is an achievement after third attempt in his life. This 2018, has brought good news for the Bodos that two Bodo students have cleared up UPSC examination. One is Tapos Basumatary of Guwahati,who spotted in 645th ranked.

Pwrman’s father,Dhaneswar is an employee at BTC deducation deaprtemt and mother is a school teacher at Swrang High School in Kokrajhar. Pwrman said that he had dedicated hard to crack UPSC examination. He said that he used to prefer traditional foods,like Dho- Ondla, Dhao-sobai and basket ball sporting in his student life.

'I am very much happy with results come out in my life. I shall dedicate more devotion to serve nation on coming days ", he said.

Dhaneswar, father of Pwrman, expressing his happiness after his son cracked the UPSC examination. He said that his son Pwrman had scripted successful results as he was always wished to be a good personality in his life. He said that parents accorded possible care and responsibility whatever to be taken during his coachings.

Various organizations and individuals, including Kokrajhar Press Club, All Bodo Students Union (ABSU),Bodoland Students Union(BSU),BPF women wing have greeted and extended congratulation to Pwrman Brahma and Taposh Basumatary, who have cleared UPSC 2018 as results was declared on Friday evening.

ABSU,BSU and several individuals welcome and felicitated Pwrman Brahma with traditional Aronai and Phulam Gamocha at his resident.

The students union has expressed their heartfelt congratulations to Pwrman and Taposh,who have come out with flying colour in the recent declared UPSC civil service examination 2018.

 ‘We are very proud by their successful results and we also congratulates to all those who have successfully cleared the UPSC examinations from Assam and rest of the country’, said ABSU education secretary, Kastom Basumatary.

ABSU was working for the uplifting and welfare of the student community across the state and hence  students are coming out with attractive results in the region.

BSU leader Derhasat Brahma and social activist Malati Rani Narzary have extended their congratualtions and wished a healthy successful life in near future.

Brahma while extending congratulations, said that Pwrman and Taposh's crack in UPSC was the community's developments and integrity.
