KOHIMA: Nagaland BJP has stepped up action against TheNewsJoint.com, after lesser known news portal broke out a story alleging Ram Madhav's stay at hotel in Dimapur with two girls.

Issuing a statement hours after the damaging story went viral in social media state party president said the story was totally false which aimed at tarnishing the image and integrity of the BJP heavyweight who has been handling the party's affairs in the north eastern region.

The state president further threatened to initiate action against the news portal under the IT Act.

GUWAHATI:The police team probing the APSC scam got remand of Rajarshi Sen Deka for fourteen days after they produced the Baska circle officer before a special court in Guwahati on Monday. Deka, the son of former m ok minister Nilomoni Sen Deka, went underground hours before the police launched the massive crackdown against the accused officers who managed their selection resorting to forgery in the answerscripts. GUWAHATI:In yet another bizarre incident that sends huge shockwaves across the animal lovers, three wild elephants were electrocuted to death in two different incidents in the state on Monday. The first tragic incident took place in Amguri where two full grown female elephants were electrocuted as a herd of elephants which cane down from the nearby hills in search of food landed at Tiphuk Tea garden in the wee hours. According to sources, Nishamoni Deka, Rumi Saikia and Rakesh Gupta are likely to surrender at any moment from now one week after they went underground. GUWAHATI:After a huge gap of one year tiger terror is back to haunt Guwahati. Four persons sustained injury when a full grown tiger which was believed to have come down from the hill side in search of food launched a series of attacks in Dhirenpara area in the morning. Local denizens with the help of forest officials managed to keep the animal confined to a local school building for a couple of hours. Later it was tranquilized and rescued. The injured people have been undergoing treatment at the Guwahati Medical College Hospital. DIPHU:A major train mishap was averted much to a major respite for hundreds of people who were to Guwahati in Nagaland Express on Saturday. GUWAHATI: The Gauhati High Court will decide on the fate of Akhil Gogoi who has been languishing in Dibrugarh Central Jail under the National Security Act. On hearing a bail moved on behalf of the KMSS leader on Friday, a single bench of Justice AC Bujorbaruah asked the government to clear its position by November 21. On receipt of the papers, the court will decide on the fate of Gogoi who was arrested under National Security Act registering 12 cases.
