RMC demanded ministerial from religious minority

Kokrajhar,April 30: The Religious Minority Council(RMC) of Bodoland Territorial Council(BTC) region expresses their unhappy over recent cabinet expansion in the BJP led alliance government at the Dispur in which minority representation has been deprived from minister induction in the expanded cabinet.The RMC demanded minority representation in the state ministry.

 The Aminur Rahman faction of the RMC and Youth Wing of the RMC have alleged that the BJP led state government has been declined to the welfare of the minority peoples in the state,so minority representation was saw deprived in the recent expanded cabinet ministry.The RMC termed that BJP led state government failed to fulfill hopes and aspirations of the common peoples as they kept promises during their election manifestos.The RMC demanded strict fulfill and implementations of the programmes that are undertaken by state government to meet healthy development and welfare of the citizens.

President of RMC Aminur Rahman and president of Youth Wing RMC Moinul Haque said that the state government totally deprived the minority peoples as the community yet to get single person’s induction in the expanded cabinet ministry. ‘We are not satisfied with the recent cabinet expansion in the state government.The religious minority peoples are deprived from getting any ministerial berth.We put demand to the Chief Minister for alloting a representation from the religious minority’,the RMC leaders said.

An open meeting of the RMC was held at Bhotgaon ME Madrassa School on Sunday in Kokrajhar with Aminur Rahman in the chair.

Youth Wing and Women’s Wing of the RMC were formed rently to run the organisation on smooth. Moinul Haque and Ahidur Rahman were selected as president and secretary for the Youth Wing.While,Mamtaj Choudhury and Wahida Sultan were selected president and secretary of the Women’s Wing of the RMC.

Meanwhile, Kokrajhar district unit of RMC was formed with Sheik Abdullah as president and Ainal Haque as secretray.

The Youth Wing of RMC for Kokrajhar district unit was formed Ibrahim Bhuyan as president and Monowar Hussain as secretary while Anowar Begum was selected as president and Narzina Khatun as secretary for Women’s Wing of the RMC of Kokrajhar district respectively.

Apurna Narzary, an international women's football player, has been nominated for the Emerging Player award for 2022-23 by the Sports & Youth Welfare department of the government of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR). Narzary has represented India in several international events and is the daughter of Biswajit Narzary of Khagrabari village in Kokrajhar district. The award will be presented to her during the Baokhungri festival celebration at Baokhungri Hill site near Harinaguri in Kokrajhar. Three individuals, including former MLA and senior BPF (Bodoland People's Front) leader Hitesh Basumatary, were arrested by police in Baksa district after a search operation at Basumatary's residential complex resulted in the recovery of a large cache of illegal arms and ammunition.
